Optimal Skin Care Part II - Spa Treats for the Weekend

As promised we will discuss the benefits of two additional facial treatments that will benefit your skin.  They are exfoliation and masquing.  Both can be done at intervals of at least once a week, which makes it a perfect weekend treat.

Exfoliation is the process of removing the oldest dead skin cells.  It's an important step in keeping our skin healthy.  Exfoliation stimulates new cell growth and will leave your skin feeling smoother and fresher looking.

Exfoliation treatments are easy and convenient to do.  Most exfoliation mixes can be made at home.  Mix in your choice of any finely ground item, cornmeal, sugar (superfine), even oatmeal to a portion of gel soap or cleanser.  Like oatmeal if what you choose is too big run it through your food processor a few times to grind it down.  Then, rub onto your skin, massage it gently, then rinse away the cleanser and dead skin cells.

Masques are another option.  Masques use clays to draw out toxins from your skin.  A good clay will also tighten and nourish your skin too.  When choosing clay you want to make sure its good quality.  It's going on your skin to clean it not to add more problems.   Your distributor should be able to tell where the clay came from, if they can't move on.

Two clays we like are French Green Clay and Rhassoul.   French Green Clay practically "drinks" the oils, toxins, and impurities from your skin.  It stimulates new skin cell growth, tightens pores and revitalizes your skin.

Rhassoul is luxurious clay and extremely good for your skin.  While removing surface oils and toxins, it also exfoliates the top layer of dead skin.  It reduces dryness and improves skin clarity.

Both exfoliants and clays penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin, applying a serum maximizes the benefit of a weekly treatment.   Both of the clays mentioned above are packed with vitamins and minerals.

Product of the Month

Our products of the month are the Wild Natural Beauty's Shower Gels.  All of our shower gels are 100% organic.  They like all of other products are sulfate, paraben and phthalate free.

Our shower gels have a good slip.  They have a honey like consistency and unlike castile soaps they do produce a lather.  Sulfates are generally the ingredient(s) that produce massive bubbles, but they can dry out and irritate your skin.  Our shower gels do not.  They rinse well without leaving a residue.  Wild Natural Beauty Shower Gels are an organic treat for your skin and pocketbook.

Relaxing Tip

Meditation is becoming more and more popular.  It seems as the stress increases in our lives we are tuning to healthy methods to relieve it.  Meditation is a way of stepping back from the hectic pace and slowing down.

Giving yourself a timeout for just 10 - 15 minutes a day can reduce anxiety, increase our clarity and decision making.  Meditation also helps our digestion, sleep, cholesterol, and even heart.

Give yourself a break and your body and mind will reward you for it.
