What's Up With WNB

November is an important but short month for everybody.  It kicks off the holiday season and lots of eating.  Snacks, savory dishes, desserts, it's all ahead of us - and family.  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because everyone in our family gets together and enjoy each other's company.  We wish you and yours enjoyment, love and laughter this holiday season.

Did You Know

Beta carotene is more than the color behind carrots, pumpkins and squash.  It helps prevent blindness, cataracts and other blind problems.  Beta carotene is an antioxidant and protects your body from certain cancers and heart disease.  This that extra helping of sweet potatoes guilt free.

Kitchen Spa
While you're making that big Thanksgiving feast for your family keep in mind that some of the tasty morsels you prepare can be enjoyed by you later as a masque.   Start with sweet potatoes, carrots or pumpkin.  But make sure that any ingredient you choose is not prepared with any oils, salt or other ingredients.  So hold about 1/2 cup back from the dishes you're preparing.

This masque is rich in beta carotene and vitamin c.  It softens and hydrates while absorbing impurities from your skin.

1/2 carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, or squash - pureed

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon yogurt

Combine all ingredients to a smooth paste and apply to your neck and your face, leaving your eyes, nose and mouth free from any masque mixture.  Relax for 10 - 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
